wonderland

t was BMO day at Wonderland on Saturday..
Carl got few tickets to go, so we went!

It was a comfortable weather and since it was before the opening, there were less people.
We only had to wait about 15min max for each ride!! yay!

I took some pictures while I was on the ride.. I am usually not so good at keeping my eyes open during the rides but for some reason, I really enjoyed the rides towards the end of the day.

I even took a short video clip of us riding The Bat.

Watching the clip made me nauseous though...
It was a fun day at the park!

cherry blossom

after dinner, I took a walk at high park to see the cherry blossom

weird
three pairs of shoes just sitting there on the bench, why??

many couples walking along the cherry blossom path
ahh.. I missed Carl..

it was around sunset..
but there were still many people to see the cherry blossom

not too shabby for using point-n-shoot

I'm so glad spring is here :-D

Eyjafjallajökull

The oh-so-hard-to-pronounce Eyjafjallajökull is causing problems for the airlines in northern Europe.
It was weird how the icelandair advertisements began appearing in subway few months ago that included volcano on their ads.

Coincident? Ironic?
But.... it looks amazing. Sorry to the airlines and air travelers, but this is just so beautiful.
wish I can see it in person..

This picture taken on March 27, 2010 shows lava spurting out of the site of a volcanic eruption at the Eyjafjallajökull volcano some 125 km east of Reykjavik. With lava still gushing, a small Icelandic volcano that initially sent hundreds fleeing from their homes is turning into a boon for the island nation's tourism industry, as visitors flock to catch a glimpse of the eruption. this one almost look like a profile of a person, a goddess maybe?

Even after seeing this short clip of how to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull, I still can't quite get it... now I'm glad I don't have to say this on tv.. hahaha

Neighbourhood Diaries: Stories from where I live

simply l.o.v.e the way kids think..
the world is much more adventurous and exciting without the responsibilities.

this exhibition takes me back to my childhood.

when I was 5, I wanted to be a nurse,
then I realized I cannot bear to look at dissected any biological things,
I wanted to become a teacher, a fashion designer, a lawyer, a singer, a accountant, an architect.....

but my life is so much different now....
I look at some of what the kids have written and it amazes me how fast they learn to the high-tech world.
with computers, nintendo, playstation...
it is quite unfortunate that the younger generations don't get much outdoor time as I used to,
not that I was an athlete.... but.......

I have lost the child in me...
and this exhibition made me bring her back...
I am glad I remembered how fun it was to be a kid :-D

aftermath

Rose-Angeli, Flux, 2010. Harbourfront Centre

Last Sunday Rose took down her pieces off the wall.
Now there are only pins that are poking out of the wall, mapping out where the ceramic pieces were.
It's a weird feeling.... looking at them....

I stood there and stared at the empty pins for a while...

julie&julia

I watched Julie & Julia yesterday.
I loved the movie. It was such an adorable movie.
A happy movie that warmed up my late evening,
left me craving boeuf bourguignon, and inspired me to start something new.

Finding 'something to do' (as Julia cooked and published her book
and Julie finished her year long blog with 524 recipes) seemed simple,
but 'doing that something' felt like a huge task.
I am in a transitional phase where nothing is certain...
and decided to find that 'something' which will motivate me,
help me build my career and my life. yes.. I am in search of that 'something to do'.

One thing I really loved about the movie was the relationship Julia and Paul had.
To me, their marriage was perfect.
The way they cared, loved, supported each other and simply enjoy the life as it happened.
Julia found the perfect half in her 40s, a person who truly loved her despite her 'flaws'.
Paul believed in Julia and Eric believed in Julie. Nothing is never too late to start...
but I always fear it and make up excuses...
like how I don't have a husband who supports me and believes in me...
but this is also another excuse.. if I believe in myself, I know I can do it....
I am just lacking that confidence..

What do I want to do?
What can I do?
Can I do it?

I am going to set a goal.. a goal of life..
I never liked reading... so I joined a book club.
My last painting is dated 2004... so bought my first oil painting kit.
One by one... I will pursue my goals... my dreams...
and find the husband to live my dream with... one day.. ;-)
